President Joko Widodo Takes To Sirkuit Mandalika

Indonesian President took to 2 wheels yesterday to check out the new Sirkuit Mandalika in Lombok before its premier event on the 21st November 2021, The World SuperBike Finale. The race is being considered as the warm-up to Next year’s MotoGP in March 2022. It is hoped that various racing events each season will contribute greatly to the financial wealth and popularity of the region and many are eagerly looking forward to Indonesia and Lombok especially, being at the forefront of the global tourist industry.

“What a one-of-a-kind concept,” Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta remarked, “having an urban, world-class track in a country where MotoGP has such a tremendous following. With a sizable population of motorsport fans, Indonesia is a significant market for us, and the MotoGP atmosphere will be even stronger once the circuit is completed. Adding Lombok to the WorldSBK calendar also adds to the appeal of this offer for local fans, who will now have two world-class races in the area throughout the year.”
